Recycle Christmas Tree 

Many cities offer tree recycling programs that turn trees into mulch, keeping them out of landfills.

Google recycling programs that are closer to where you are at. Here are some helpful links for Katy and the City of Houston. 




Use Reusable Dishes & Utensils for Gatherings

Avoiding disposables reduces plastic waste and landfill impact. Here are some helpful resources. Also can repurpose Gift Bags, Bows and Wrap in newspaper.

Run/Walk in a local Fun Run event or participate virtually in our Gobble Wobble and Running of the Elves by using the Strava link --- bp Fitness Fall Fun Runs
Able to mark off up to 2 squares on Virtual Bingo card

  • Complete 1--10k race or the equivalent 2 5k races

Group Fitness Classes
Attend any group fitness classes and mark off up to 2 squares on your Bingo Card
  • Complete 1 class

This is the same for the Virtual Bingo Card there are also up to 2 squares to mark off by doing any group fitness class virtually.

Overally there are up to 6 squares to easily mark off for the Bingo Card
  • Complete 1 group fitness class
  • Complete 3 group fitness classes
  • Speciality pop-up class --- Turkey Torcher (register for class)
  • Speciality pop-up class --- Jingle Jam Spin Class (spots are limited)
  • Complete past group fitness class recordings
  • Complete 1 Wellbeats video
There are also up to 6 squares to mark off for the Virtual Bingo Card
  • Complete 1 virtual group fitness class
  • Complete 3 virtual group fitness classes

Group Fitness Recordings/Wellbeats
Under the Group fitness tab has some group fitness recorded classes. Click on the link and try any of the class videos. 

Complete 1 Wellbeats Class in Studio or Individually 

  • Login to bp.com/benefitsatbp and click Thrive with US Portal (powered by WebMD) or connect via WebMD Wellness At Your Side app -> scroll down to "Take Action" -> Click on "Connect with Wellbeats" -> enroll in Wellbeats. Now you can start taking classes.

  • Under the Group Fitness tab has some more helpful tips for Wellbeats.

  • Ask any of the fitness staff for assistance if needing help using Wellbeats in the Studios.  

Bonus! Submit for Wellbeing Points-- Earn 75 points for every 10 group exercise classes (onsite or virtual instructor led classes) you attend

Assessments
Weigh-In/Out 
  • Maintain or gain no more than 2 lb through the holidays to earn a t-shirt 
  • Weigh-in: Nov. 10th-21st  
  • Weight-out: Jan. 2nd-16th 

Complete an InBody 

  • Prepare for the new year—Members can get an InBody assessment in the bp fitness center. Just check with a staff member about setting up a time. 

Complete a SmartPath 

  • A great way to help you start achieving your personal fitness goals. Schedule with an Exercise Specialist or email bpfitness1@bp.com

Giving/Community
Give back to your community and help neighbors in need this holiday season.
  • Donate to a local food bank
  • Donate a toy for Lilly's Toy Drive -- Donation box will be in the fitness centers and at the Running of the Elves fun run
  • Volunteer for a Fun Run Email stephen.salazar@bp.com or taylor.walker@bp.com for information to volunteer. 
This gives you up to 3 squares to mark off. 

Virtual Participants

Give back to your community and help your neighbors by donating or volunteering with a local cause or charity in your area.

The holidays can be a joyous time, but it can also be a lonely and stressful time for some people. Take time over the busy holidays and make sure you are taking care of your mental health and wellbeing.
